Scrapfriends colour challenge

I just had to do a layout with this colour scheme at Scrapfriends ...BLUE is my favourite colour!

I painted my bedroom a darker blue with off white ceilings which comes down to meet a beautiful freeze. This photo is of my chair which I painted and I just love the effect against the walls and the floor boards....I just love my bedroom!

I have painted some bamboo skewers to match the wicker chair

Cork bird from the Trinket Track

And the layout...

My Grand Daughter Glacia loves these teddies.....always puts them to bed!

This is a pic of the Fireplace ( a very old house...have 5 fireplaces plus a wood stove in the kitchen!)
I just love this print.....often just lay in bed and look at it!

Sketchabilities #109

I love this sketch over at Sketchabilities ....but I am disappointed with my layout...it hasn't turned out exactly as I hoped...but you get that!
I used a  photo of the Grand kids helping Pop to blow out his candles ....I really only baked the cake for the kids! They love blowing out the candles and that is when you sing Happy Birthday!

I took this photo with the flash off ....so I went with those colours.....but I am not sure.......BUT I LOVE the photo!

I have mainly used gelatos and washi tape
Glacia has a head lamp on...she had just been out side to look at the chooks roosting!

Some more close ups

Another freaking scrappy challenge Feb

I came across this sketch at Another freaking scrappy challenge (saw this on Mary's blog) and I thought I would give it a go

I decided to use a photo of my DH playing his guitar at a band gig
And I should be in the good books....
Firstly it is a photo of him..
Secondly he is playing his loved guitar...
And thirdly I have used purple..his favourite colour!

Sorry about the shadow...but the white looks white!
I tried in slight shade...but the colours were just not right

The stars are from the Trinket Track
The chipboard is from A2Z Scraplets

My music notes aren't so good!

I have decided I like chipboard...and maybe even purple!

WW1 Feb challenge

I thought I would get the gelatos out again for this month's challenge at White with 1

Never thought I would scrap in purple....but I am sort of pleased with how it turned out
Hubby likes it...that's because purple is his favourite colour!
We have just been to A Day On The Green at Clare
It was so hot...45 degrees and no shade...so I was making a few trips to the misting tent
Wow that was so refreshing.....but only for a little while!

This is very different for me...never know really how to use the gelatos and
then to arrange the flowers properly....it takes me ages!

The white flowers and the little butterflies are from Cheap as Chips, which I had bought that morning
and the beautiful purple flowers are from the Trinket Track

Flicked a bit of gesso over the purple here

Didn't know what to put here...and then I found this butterfly, which I darkened with the gelatos

Colour Me Scrappy Feb 15th

Another fabulous challenge at Colour Me Scrappy

Twist: use wood (paper, wood chips, twigs ... be creative

Glacia popped in to say hello on her first day of kindy.....didn't stop talking as usual!
I thought it was about time I used the chipboard I had won!

I found these cute little bats, that I fussy cut....they're so cute!

I have had this doily for ages....love op shops!

She was only meant to stay to lunch time, but when Mum came to pick her up .....no way was she going home! So she stayed for the whole day. So much for worrying!!

Don't to forget to check out the challenge at ARTastic

ARTastic Feb challenge

I hope you all had a nice Valentines Day.....we did ...it RAINED!
I was hoping for 2 inches and yes we made it ...got 57 mls....so happy
This month's inspiration piece at ARTastic is beautiful
I was inspired by the haphazard background and the splash of blue and red.
I couldn’t get my background to work and in my frustration, the paper tore and this is the result!

I thought I might as well tear the washi tape into strips too!

I have painted the bit of pizza box white and then inked the edges.
I also inked the flowers and alphas to get the right colour.
For that splash of bright red and blue, I popped the flowers and title against the black and white photo.

Ah yes my little boy is all boy! I have forgotten what it is like to have a boy in the house and wow it's different....But he has the biggest eyes....the biggest smile and loves his Nanna and even does mwah kisses now.....what more can I ask??

Sketchabilities Sketch #108

This sketch over at Sketchabilities caught my eye and as I had taken photos of my Grand Son the other day when he had a basket around his neck...(and sort of had a wee bit of trouble getting it off)....I knew this was the sketch!!

Have never been too sure about using the tiny pegs on my layouts....was amazed I had some..

I had originally had 3 sheets of old book paper for the background ...but it didn't look right , so I have torn them up and outlined with gelatos

He thought he was pretty smart....

until he tried to take it off...

this took a while and he wasn't happy....but he was all smiles before too
long and off to get into some more mischief!

did such a good job on his shirt

"RAZOR" is the name of DH's band
